MIke and Doug Starn
—Abrams (1990)
Introduction by Robert Rosenblum and essay by Andy Grundberg.
Monograph (in progress)
A 400 to 500-page, 2-volume publication designed by
Doug and Mike Starn in collaboration with Goto Design.
It will present 25 years of the Starns' artwork and
reflections on the essence of light, featuring holograms,
pop-up, over 10 distinct paper stocks and a dos á dos book cover connecting both volumes. We hope to announce a potential publication date by the end of 2009.

Catalogues for Gravity of Light
Five catalogues complement the exhibition. Each of the books is dedicated to single artwork. These pieces are broken down into their constituent tiles, and each tile becomes a single page in a book. A solitary line of the text flows through all pages to expose the embedded concept, metaphor, science and philosophy written by the Starns with additional excerpted material.
